The global capitalist crisis has transformed the ‘neo-developmentalist strategy' of capitalist development in South America. In the seminar, Dr Féliz discusses the Argentine case by focusing on the current economic 'transitional crisis’ and explores the specificity of the Argentinean economy as well as the new forms of social and class conflict that have emerged as a result of this transition. Féliz then considers some of the Argentinean scholars’ recent contributions to the tradition of Marxist Dependency Theory (MDT) by highlighting the way in which they are interpreting this new crisis in relation to both economic growth and class conflict in the country.
